We are looking for 7 youngsters aged between 18 and 30 years, residents of EU or EU partner countries to be a part of a European Solidarity Corps volunteering project in 4 activities in Riga, Latvia. Deadline for the applications: June 20, 2022.

What and who?
The Municipal Children’s and Youth Centre of Riga is a short-term and long-term institution for social care and social rehabilitation, which provides housing, full care and social rehabilitation for orphans and children left without parental care from 0 to 18 years of age, in crisis as well as provide social and informative support for children at social risk groups. The goal of the youth house is to promote the development of a stable and comprehensive personal development of young people, self-directed youth, continuous participation in the education process and integration into the labour market.
During the project volunteers will be involved in daily life of the Centre by supporting youngsters and the organisation’s staff in dealing with everyday situations, homework and organising various activities for the youngsters, for example, creative workshops, sports activities, foreign language and discussion clubs, national culture and food cooking evenings and other individual volunteer’s initiatives.
We would prefer you to be interested and ready to work with youngsters with fewer opportunities (orphans and children left without parental care). Having a previous experience in youth work and basic knowledge of Russian language (at least conversational level) will be considered as a plus.
The working language will be English, Russian (at least conversational level).
Riga Youth Centre KAŅIERIS is a cooperation platform for youth organisations and young people who want to participate and organise various types of activities. What does that mean in real life? We organize trainings for youth workers (mainly youth organizations), provide space and resources for their own activities, take part in international projects and events, support local youth in their search for participation, activism and involvement opportunities. And when it gets too hot (like last summer!) we simply drag our bean-bags outside and do all that while cooling in the shadow of a big tree.
One of the main tasks with KAŅIERIS will be joining their team for school visits around Riga – together we will plan interactive activities and ways of telling young people about such local and European opportunities like Erasmus+ youth exchanges, ESC volunteering, Solidarity projects, local youth organizations and opportunities in Riga.
Youth center team would love to welcome someone who wants to learn more about youth work in the municipality, get involved and mingle with some local youth organizations and collaborate with them in various events, as well as someone who is interested in developing their own initiatives, like hikes, workshops, game-nights, discussions, movie nights, sports events etc. And we would love to have someone who is keen on “boosting up” our social media accounts;)

Baltic Regional Fund (BRF) is a non-governmental organisation. It was born in Riga, but Europe is its home. BRF’s energetic team organises activities all around Latvia and participates in many projects on European level. The organisation works with people from different age, education, social status and cultural background. BaMbuss Youth Studio is an initiative of BRF. It is a special place for youngsters, where they can develop social, artistic and professional skills.
Volunteers will be actively involved in all BRF and #jsBaMbuss activities and will organise their own initiatives, events, workshops, information campaigns etc., get to know different cultures through participating in various events, activities, youth projects and charities activities with young people and youth organisations from all Latvia.
We would prefer you to be interested in working in a team, communication, photography, editing and filming videos, social networks, organising events and leading some workshops for youngsters in our youth studio and leading your native language clubs.

Visas Iespējas is a social enterprise and a platform that gathers youth organizations and diverse projects in Latvia and the rest of the world. Our aim is to allow every young person to find the right opportunities and to fulfill their potential. We also organize and create different events and trainings – both online and in-person – to develop professional skills of young people and bring them together with potential employers. We also recently launched a new international platform called “Go remote!” (goremote.visasiespejas.lv), that is focused on gathering remote work opportunities and educational resources connected with it.
The volunteer in our project will be involved in creating content for the website and our social media channels – educational resources and blog posts about remote work skills, finding remote work opportunities, creating posters and visuals for our social media channels etc. – as well as assist our project manager with the preparation for online conferences, skill development trainings for young people and other activities connected to the project. There will also be a possibility to visit local schools and youth organizations, representing our platform and inspiring young people to use opportunities and fulfil their potential.
We are looking for a volunteer who is interested in content creation and social media management, as well as developing the remote work culture and skills in Europe. The working language will be English. https://visasiespejas.lv/en/
