The year is ending!
All these months have come and passed so fast that it is hard to process! And this December is no exception. The month was definitely filled with interesting experiences.
On one side, Laure finished her French Language courses for the year. She also went to Madona to assist BRF staff with video-filming at an event, and volunteered at KKC by helping their newly-arrived EVS volunteers with her photography skills. On another side, Khristina held a baking workshop where she taught some local youngsters how to prepare and cook vegan cookies for Christmas. She also spent the whole month practicing her Latvian with local friends.
As Christmas was approaching, the girls decorated the studio with Christmas adornments and fairy lights, as well as helped create, write and send hundreds of postcards for our partners, volunteers, and colleagues around the world. There was a lot of glitter involved!
They also took the time to explore the Christmas markets around the city, and started preparing their final EVS project (which is a collaboration of Laure’s pictures and Khristina’s poetry) whilst visiting their favourite cafés and brainstorming with warm cappuccinos and delicious vegan cake pieces.
To finish 2018, the girls had a self-evaluation meeting and said farewell to the year with a cozy, nice Christmas dinner with their coordinators at Mr. Fox. When food and laughter are involved, you know everything is going to go well! And so, with peace at heart, Laure left for Israel to celebrate Christmas with her mum, whilst Khristina stayed in Latvia with her local friends (and a bunch of snow).
