This November, our girls started seeing the beginning of winter as night came earlier on the day. It was a fairly quiet month for BaMbuss after some busy months, and the volunteers decided to focus more on pending tasks.
For Khristina, that meant taking her accumulated days off and spend her newly-found free time to explore more about herself, her passions and hobbies – starting new personal studies online and setting new goals for herself. She also took the time to go to a couple of animal rights workshops, make some contacts with local activists, and even attend to another symphonic orchestra concert to listen to live movie soundtracks.
Laure, on the other side, decided this month to focus more on administrative tasks managing EVS projects that BRF is coordinating throughout the year. She also decided to do some extra French Language courses, as her most motivated students were really up to learn extra things.
#100YearsLatvia celebrations
At the end of the month, both girls helped to organize an event in BaMbuss which involved the screening of a documentary called The True Cost – about the social and environmental costs of fast fashion. Khristina showed her new public speaking skills and led a discussion after the screening about the movie and about how to get more involved in sustainable fashion.
To everyone’s surprise, the year is coming to an end, and Christmas is around the corner! What more adventures are awaiting for out girls in the next couple of months?
