BRF, YS BaMbuss and Riga municipality Children Center are looking for mentors for our 4 long-term volunteers!

12 months project: March 1, 2019 – February 25, 2020.
9 months project: April 1, 2019 – December 31, 2019.
Latvian residents, who wish to support international volunteers during their volunteering project in Riga, Latvia, by supporting them in their learning process, introducing them to Latvian culture and everyday life in Riga, supporting them in case of difficulties during the time of the project. We are open to candidates of any age and with any (or no) previous experience in mentoring (necessary preparation will be provided).
We would like our mentors to be open to new experience, communicative, ready to discover new cultures, tolerant and with a calm attitude in difficult situations, able to communicate in English and/or other foreign languages.
During the time of the activities each mentor will have one volunteer to support.
Together with volunteers mentors should have regular meetings (at least 2 meetings per months), during which they will discuss and work on learning plans of volunteers, introduce volunteers to local culture, events, everyday life, have some informal activities together, discuss and try to find possible solutions for difficult situations (if such happen).
Also together with the volunteers mentors should participate on an On-arrival training course (we will discuss the details about it with each mentor separately).
